Peter Klaven, a real estate realtor, is soon to be married. Peter tries to look for a friend with so many ways, until he met Sidney Fife.

I LOVE IT, MAN!!

At first, my intention was only to see Paul Rudd, but out of expectation, this film is very entertaining. Peter's awkwardness successfully made me laugh. Sidney's craziness is also funny. Not only both of them, but there are many scenes with surprisingly good jokes. This film is not at all slapstick, the jokes are simple and felt so natural.

Didn't realize that Jon Favreau is playing, not a big role tho, but he is perfect in delivering the role as jerk, LOL, I like it! Lou Ferigno is also starring. Ooooh..so many funny scenes!

I laughed hard on Anwar Sadat joke, LOL!

The theme is so simple, friendship between guys. Are you man enough to say, I Love You, Man?

Have you ever hear that? That's the quote I heard sometimes from some friends.

Now, what's wrong with comfort zone? This one tickles me. Aren't we, humans, looking for happiness?

Let me put it this way. You come into a new environment, automatically, you will have to adjust. Some adjust easily, some not, and others fail. For people who successfully adjust to the new environment, they will somehow find comfort in their own way. Either they are comfort with other people, or with the activities, or the system, you name it.

Guess what you will find when you're already comfort in something? Say what? Happiness?? Yes!

Sometimes I wonder, why some people say comfort zone is a dangerous place. They say, one cannot move forward if he or she is already in it. No motivation, no strong will to excel, no challenge, blah blah blah. Well, they got a point in some way. Like, when you're comfort, you feel enough, no need to achieve more.

But, for me, challenge is something you can create on your own, whenever, wherever. I work in one place for 7 years now. Yes, Seven!! But so what? I feel comfort here. I like my job and I love the people I work with. I'm comfort, I'm happy. But is it everyday? Everytime? My answer would be, No.

I don't feel comfort with some people here, the silly rules of my company, and sometimes with the routine activities. Now that is the perfect timing for me to challenge myself. How can I pass those things? How will I cope with those people? What kind of solution I will take for every problem occurs, etc etc.

For those who thinks that comfort zone doesn't create challenge, please do think again. Because the way I see it, the challenge that you take in a non-comfort zone is the challenge that given by somebody else. You know, challenging yourself is fun, it's your own target.

What are you trying to search in life anyways when you are busy hopping from one place to another? Oh well, it's just an opinon.

One of my most anticipated movies in 2009. Heart this movie since I saw the teaser poster. I thought, this one has got to be a good one! And it turned out to be...

AWESOME!!!

There's Carl Fredricksen, a grumpy old widow, lives alone and has no interest to mingle. The man loves his late wife very much, he always keeps their dreams, to have a great adventure and to have a house near the Paradise Falls. Bothered by the construction workers, who eventually gave him court summon to leave the house, he chose to refuse by floating his house with hundreds of balloons. Accidentally, he brought Russel with him. Russel, an elementary boy scout who has a dream to become a Wilderness Explorer. With Russel, Carl began a new adventure.

Please allow me to say, WOW!
Up is not only an original idea with charming story and hillarious jokes, but Up, is one of the few best animated movies with a beautiful point of objective, 'just don't lose your sense of adventure, guys'.

Started with a short movie, about clouds that create things, it's about love and trust Oh, it's just funny, but wait.. it's also very touching in the end. Short and sharp!

The film itself brought very a deep and memorable scene, in my opinion. Oh, how much I cried on the flashbacks scene of Carl and Ellie. With beautiful theme song from Michael Giacchino, the scene was able to touch deeply and simply describe the meaning of togetherness in happy and sad, in sickness and health, the meaning of love.

When it comes to the adventure, people were laughing hard. Heck I laugh so hard till I had a sorethroat last night. So funny and thrilling, people were not just laughing, they even screamed. Ovation were heard many times. Russel's behavior, he is so cute, I just wanna keep him in my closet! Those stupid dogs, dogs that talk! What's up with dog and Squirrels anyway? "LOL*

Watchout people, they are funnnnyyy!

Up is the best animated movie since a very.. very long time.

public enemies

John Dillinger, one of my childhood heroes.

Mafia, and gangster movies are totally my genre. When I found out that it's Johnny Depp, there's no other movie I waited for in this summer season. Not a big fan of Depp, though I always think of him as a brilliant and one of a kind actor, but Depp is perfect as Dillinger.

A brilliant Public Enemy in a brilliant movie.

For almost 2.5 hours, we were brought to the 30's. Feels like the 30's tho (love those times, mafia era). Since the first 10 minutes, we were spoiled with action, strong drama, and details. The Dillinger's escape legends, the robberies, even the hostages method, all there (well, not everything of course). Michael Mann succesfully arranged the balance between action and drama so that no moment is a dull moment. Mann's habit to use minimum background score is at an almost perfect level (well, nothing's perfect, d'oh!). Felt like experiencing the real event, for example, the gunshot scene in the villa, it was tense.

Now the weakness. Well let's see. One thing I felt while watching this, is the lack of description why on earth was Dillinger admired by people? Wasn't explained enough. Also, Melvin Purvis character somehow drowned by the charming of Mr. Wiensted, the Texas Officer. Purvis was seemed so mediocre here.

As for the cast, Marion Cotillard delivers quite a charming performance as Billie. Christian Bale, he is no disappointment also, the southern accent of his, knowing he's originally a Brit, is considered perfect. In acting wise, he is above his standard level, and way better than in his previous film, The Terminator. But apparently Bale is over-shadowed by his co-star, Johnny Depp. Well, for sure, Depp dominates almost all the charmingness in the film itself. a perfect cast for the character. His performance? nuff said!

Many people only give 3 stars for this film, but I'll give 4.5 stars, and I'll stick to my opinion. Heck I haven't seen such movie in a long time. This is absolutely My Best Summer Movie in 2009.

Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince

Never read any Potter book. Never really care about the story. I watched all Potter movies only because of one thing, and one thing only....Alan Rickman.

The 6th movie was delayed twice for its release since summer 2008. When it finally arrived on July 16th here, in Indonesia, the people were like.. going nuts! Most theatres were fully booked for the whole weekend. It's Harry Potter phenomena all over again.

Well, is the movie itself a phenomenon? In my personal opinion, it is the most boring HP movie. The story itself is dark enough, so it's an absolute teenage to adult movie. Too bad, it is not wrapped good enough. No memorable action scene, not thrilling enough, too many teenage love story, even the ending is not strong enough. It should bring tears even to the people who didn't read the book. Well, friends who cried at the end admitted that they remember their feelings when reading the book, not because of the movie scene...oh, well.

The actors are not bad at all, except one, Daniel Radcliffe! He still can't act!! Please Lord help us who stuck with him for the next movie.

But I'm proudly say, I don't give a damn about all of that movie weakness. It's Alan Rickman that I had waited for. His sexy accent, cold expression, everything! Been a fan since Die Hard.

So, the bad thing about this movie is a lot of things but.. Alan Rickman.

The Soloist

At last, after waiting for a long time, after almost each week I desperately became quite an annoying person for the dvd store people, asked the same question over and over again, "Is The Soloist availabe yet?", after once a week I googled the download link. Finally!

Steve Lopez, an LA Times journalist is running out of ideas for his weekly article, when suddenly he met Nathaniel Ayers, a homeless, playing a two-string violin. Steve is instinctively interested in Nathaniel who turns out to be a Schizophrenic also. For his article, Steve tries to approach Nathaniel which ended up in friendship.

This two-hours duration film, apparently failed to fulfill my personal-long time-expectation. The drama itself, I have no idea why, is kinda...flat, with no emotional roller coaster. The story is very much focused on Nathaniel's Schizophrenia and how Steve fought to approach and understand Nathaniel. The only entertainment here is Steve's funny scenes (Downey is so smart!).

Just to be honest, besides the anxious and desperation to see Downey's performance, I was hoping to see how genius Nathaniel or The Soloist himself, or at least his extraordinary cello ability. Well, automatically, I did not feel the importance of Nathaniel that has to be fought by Steve.

On the other hand, IMHO, Downey's performance is way better than Foxx's (always Downey ;p). Not as good as his performance in Tropic Thunder, but he's still good tho, above his own average. Foxx is not so bad himself, but for some reasons, I feel that Foxx didn't deliver something special with Nathaniel's character.

Oya, btw, Downey is also the narrator in this film (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang all over again). I always admire his style in reading narration, very lively and funny! His speaking style is an entertainment for me (I'm so a Downey defender ;p).

transformers 2: revenge of the fallen

The first one was quite a bummer for me, it was cool, but they made the fights too close up, the aim was to show details of the transformation itself, but it's very much a dizzy-maker for me. So, I felt not too excited on waiting for the sequel.

I watched it last night, and it was THE BOMB! (using Randy Jackson's words)

2.5 hours full of action, cooler robots, bigger ones, so many details and definitely not a dizzy-maker this time! Amazing special effects combined with grand original score by Steve Jablonsky that spoil the ears, fight scenes that made my hands automatically performed ovations, uncountable 'Whoa' word from my mouth, not to mention a bit of watery eyes at the end of Forest Battle scene (well, don't blame me..he's one of my childhood heroes, d'oh!).

Smart move by using desert and forest for fight scenes setting. So we don't have to be confused by flying cars and running people on the street. Is it the same desert with the first movie?

The story itself is not too special, a regular one. The disappointment came when seeing too many cheesy scenes, drama and more drama, those are so 100 years old! And selling the body of Megan Fox? What's with that? It's like watching cheap action movies with motorbikes dudes! The ending? Not extreme enough. Looks like it's too easy for Optimus.

Wait... can you believe it..? those are nothing compared to...

Less Optimus Prime! Optimus is only shown in front and end of the movie. That's not enough! A really big time disappointment since he is many people's childhood heroes.

Well, in terms of jokes, this one is way better than the previous one. Lots of funny acts, the twin robots, the Witwickies, Jetfire the English robot, even the new guy, Leo. I'm even grateful with Rainn Wilson and the oompa loompa guy in the movie.

I highly recommend Transformers 2 if you're looking for adrenalin and awesome action. You really have to watch it in a good cinema with top surround sound!

terminator salvation

Awal dengar Christian Bale sebagai John Connor, saya sudah skeptis abis.. what the..? Bisa mengganggu citra Bruce Wayne di mata saya.. huh! Penasaran berat!

Bisa dibilang masih sangat related dari cerita Terminator sebelumnya, Terminator Salvation bercerita tentang bagaimana keadaan di era judgement day, di mana isinya hanya perang antara robot (Skynet) dengan manusia (pemberontak) yang dipimpin oleh John Connor. Di sisi lain, Marcus Wright, yang hidup lagi setelah dijadikan eksperimen, akhirnya bertemu dengan John Connor. Connor yang awalnya ragu dengan Marcus, akhirnya bekerjasama melawan Skynet.

The End Begins??

Yayaya... harusnya ya! Ceritanya dangkal, gak ada istimewanya. Saya sendiri kurang tertarik dengan warna filmnya (literally) yang kurang ceria, ya..mungkin karena memang era judgement day, saat semuanya sudah hancur, yang sisa hanya puing dan debu (orang-orangnya juga sepertinya udah gak pernah mandi, ;p).

Yang paling mengecewakan adalah Christian Bale sebagai John Connor. Bukannya menghina Bale, tapi casting beliau adalah sebuah kesalahan! Lagi juga kok film ini malah lebih terasa seperti filmnya Sam Worthington dibanding Bale ya? Selain screen stealler, beliau juga sepertinya porsinya lebih banyak dibanding John Connor sendiri. Terakhir, kok hero-nya malah jadi Marcus Wright (mirip Ben Affleck, huh!)?

Beneran rusak sekarang image Bruce Wayne di matakuuuu... huhuhu...(lebay).

Yang paling menyenangkan adalah original score-nya! Ketika baca nama Elfman, saya jadi lebih konsen sama score-nya. Udah bahagia dengar openingnya. Walaupun di tengah agak harus memilah antara sound effect dan score sampai sempat sedikit memejamkan mata di tengah film, biar lebih konsen sama musiknya (juga karena filmnya kurang menarik, ;p).

Action scenes lumayan. Ada beberapa adegan yang cukup mengejutkan. Tapi masih tergolong cukup. Skynet tidak menarik, Motominator is the coolest.

Oya, cameo Governor of California?? agak males deeeeeehhh.... fake body ;D

night at the museum 2: the battle of smithsonians

Short comment aja:

NATM 2 separo lucu, separonya lagi gak terlalu lucu. Paling suka dengan adegan Kahmunrah berteriak bangga bahwa dirinya adalah seorang raja, tapi ya udah..gitu aja.. LOL!. Suka juga sama 2 monyet tampar-tamparan bareng Ben Stiller, walau slapstick, tapi karena saya penggemar Ben Stiller, jadi no problem. Senang juga ada Ricky Gervais dengan ciri khas kaku-nya, ;D. Adegan ala 300 juga sangat menghibur. Jonas Brothers as Cupids?? Well... yeah, whatever..

Intinya, ciri khas Stiller masih cukup kental di sini. Saya suka sama perdebatan-perdebatan gak penting yang bikin geli ketawa (cth: Brundun. what the..??).

Tapi masih jauh lebih lucu yang pertama sih... semoga gak dibikin sequel lagi (walo kaya'nya bakal dibikin.. huh)

a simple opinon (after Idol announcement)

I really have to be super calm in writing this blog, 'cos I'm a big Adam Lambert's supporter...

You know, watching all those boring performances from the guest stars was such a torture. Although David Cook, Kiss and Queen were quite cool (hmm.. the last two were with Adam), and that Steve Martin was surprisingly very talented!

Until, the moment that you've been waiting for...I KNEW IT!! I had a feeling about it.

Well, here's the case. It's not that I'm not accepting the fact (well, I'm not actually), but it would be much nicer if Adam loses from Danny Gokey. I mean, Gokey is not a brilliant artist, but he's a good singer, much better than Kris Allen. Come on!

Adam Lambert, as we could all witness, had delivered original ideas for his performances. I've never seen a contestant like that in American Idol history. David Cook? Well, yeah, he's good, but he's not that iconic.

But Kris Allen?? Come on! Get real! He's a good singer, but not that good to be the Idol. His performances were forgettable, maybe accept for Ain't No Sunshine and Heartless. But still..

When Gokey was eliminated a week before, my guts was telling me that most of his fans would migrate to Kris. So Kris would have 'Hey, I don't like Adam Lambert then I'm gonna choose the other guy' vote ?? It's kinda sad, really...

What then? Was it because Adam's high pitch? Really? I don't think it's a major problem for many people. Nope, that's not the reason. Or... was it because of the gay thing? Or even more, the cross dresser thing?? the controversial picture?? If that's the problem.. Whoa! We're not in 1930's here, people. Helloooooww..!

Yea well, I always believe a true talent has its own way. Adam has been heard, so he'll find his way to success.

PS: Btw, I've never ever believe of a pure vote. Sorry, conspiracies rule the world. so, I feel kinda sorry for Kris.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Nonton dua kali. Pertama adalah untuk konsentrasi ke Mr. Logan, yang kedua adalah untuk konsentrasi ke jalan cerita dan... Mr. Logan, of course. One of my most anticipated movies this year, bukan hanya karena Hugh Jackman factor, tapi juga karena saya penggemar X-Men the movies (bukan komik).

Cerita mengenai perjalanan James Logan dari kecil, sampai melewati berbagai dekade, hingga bertemu dengan mutant lainnya. Berlanjut kepada pertikaian Logan dengan Victor, bergabungnya Logan dengan Stryker hingga balas dendam sang Wolverine atas kematian kekasihnya.

Saya terpana mulai dari adegan pembuka, Logan and Victor as children, sampai adegan di mana mereka berdua melewati berbagai macam peperangan. So cool! Berbagai action scene juga bagus, cukup intense. Saya paling suka adegan Wade menghadapi berbagai tembakan di Afrika, juga fight terakhir, antara Victor, Logan dan Wade, sayang.. kurang lama.

Satu yang lumayan mengganggu adalah adegan Blob. Kok maksa' ya? Lucu'nya juga agak garing. Oya, special efek juga masih agak kasar sedikit. Lumayan cheesy juga di adegan Logan meledakkan helikopter, dan background api-nya itu. Sayangnya juga, di sini terlalu banyak bercampur dengan para mutant di X-Men, harusnya film ini jauh lebih fokus ke Wolverine-nya sendiri.

Akting wise, saya kagum sama Liev Schreiber. Hugh Jackman pun seperti jauh di bawah beliau ini. Will I Am sok asik (as usual). Danny Houston sebagai Stryker juga kurang licik, kok malah terkesan semua ekspresinya agak sedikit 'kurang smart'. Lynn Collins juga biasa aja. Rumornya malah tadinya Michelle Monaghan yang ditawari peran ini. Saya menyesali, kenapa bukan Monaghan? Akan jauh lebih menarik.

Jackman memorable scenes: mmm...mmmhhh.. doh! bingung..! emang ada yang gak memorable apa dari dia??!

Durasi film yang terlalu singkat juga sangat mengganggu. Oya, jangan lupa.. after end title scene.

watchmen

Ada mantan Watchmen yang dibunuh karena dianggap mengetahui suatu rahasia. Ada yang mencoba meyakinkan mantan-mantan lainnya bahwa mereka akan dibunuh satu per satu. Ada yang sedang membuat eksperimen dengan rekator nuklir demi mencegah perang dunia. And so on.. and so on…

Should everyone watch the Watchmen??

Sejujurnya, film Zack Snyder sebelumnya membuat saya terpana, sampai hampir standing ovation. Jadi wajar saja kalau saya berharap setidaknya sama kualitasnya dengan 300. So, what about Watchmen here?

Penyampaian cerita dengan metode back and forth sebenarnya tidak mengganggu dan cukup jelas, sayangnya, alur terlalu lambat untuk sebuah film yang harusnya bisa lebih megah. Filmnya yang gelap tidak didukung dengan villain yang berkarakter kuat. Terlalu bertele-tele untuk sebuah film Superhero, belok kesana kemari. Bahkan Iron Man saja yang alurnya dinilai lumayan lambat, masih bisa dibungkus dengan sangat menarik. Banyak monolog yang sebenarnya kurang penting. Filosofi panjang lebar berserakan di seantero film ini (jadi inget film The Fountain-nya Jackman, yang butuh perjuangan untuk tidak mematikan tv).

Karakter para superhero tidak menarik, kecuali Comedian. Rorschach..masih so-so. Dr. Mahattan terlalu mellow, Night Owl mungkin mau dibuat lucu’, tapi jadinya biasa saja, Silk Spectre juga kurang sexy sebagai Female Superhero. Ozymandiaz?? Below expectation. Yeah, well..

Oya, satu adegan yang paling lame, dari beberapa adegan lame lainnya adalah ketika Night Owl dan Silk Spectre mencoba menyelamatkan orang-orang dari kebakaran gedung. What the..??

Ini adalah film ketiga, setelah Pirates of Caribbean at World’s End dan Mummy 3, yang membuat saya menguap terus. Durasi yang panjang menambah penderitaan. Deretan sebelah kiri saya beberapa kali menguap dengan kencangnya sambil nyeletuk, “Bosen banget seeehh..” ;P.

Watching Watchmen is like, the movie successfully dragged me low, down low to the bottom of boredom. It’s like watching one of Shakespeare shows, without the love theme.

Well, I have to give credits though.. hmmm..let’s see..

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, absolutely. IMHO, The Comedian adalah satu-satunya karakter yang menarik di film ini. He’s brutally awesome (and sexy, of course). Sayang, porsinya kurang banyak.

Fight scenes, not bad, walau cenderung standar. Yang paling saya suka adalah adegan-adegan fight yang mengejutkan, didukung oleh sound yang menggetarkan by Studio XXI, lumayan bisa membangunkan saya yang mulai suntuk ;P. Oya, beberapa soundtrack juga menghibur (berasa nonton tv series Cold Case yang penuh dengan lagu-lagu lama).

Hmmm… gak tega saya membandingkan film ini dengan 300..

monsters vs aliens

Cuma berniat nonton karena ada Hugh Laurie dan Kiefer Sutherland, saya tidak expect banyak dari film ini, secara juga udah setahun lebih saya agak pesimis sama ‘lucunya’ film animasi Hollywood.

Which side are you?

‘Tumbuh’nya Susan menjadi raksasa mempertemukannya dengan keempat monster lainnya di suatu project rahasia yang dipimpin oleh Jendral Monger. Mereka kemudian diperintahkan untuk melawan serangan para alien yang dipimpin oleh Gallaxhar.

Benar-benar tidak disangka, film animasi yang satu ini bisa membuat saya konstan terbahak. Lelucon konyol, tolol dan beneran gak penting bertebaran di seantero film. Adegan seperti sang presiden menyambut alien dengan bermain keyboard (masih geli ngebayanginnya), BOB yang tanpa otak, Dr. Cockroach yang mencoba memecahkan kode dengan dance-nya (bayangin hugh laurie dance), mad scientist laugh, adegan Gallaxhar bercerita ke Susan, sampai yang detail seperti UFO yang hanya ada di Amerika (??? Hahahaha).

Bagi saya, film ini sukses berat. Apalagi mengingat jajaran dubber-nya yang..waduh deh! Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogan, Will Arnet, Hugh Laurie, Paul Rudd, Rain Wilson dan Kiefer Sutherland, semua berhasil menghidupkan karakter masing-masing. Two thumbs up buat Mr. Sutherland. Harus didengar secara seksama, baru bisa tau kalau itu suaranya dia. Lengkap dengan southern accent-nya. Bahkan dengar suaranya saja saya bisa terbahak. Awesome!

Baru tau juga dari teman, kalau ternyata pengisi suara Insectosaurus adalah Jimmy Kimmel.. langsung geli tertawa saya.

Setelah Shrek 2, baru film Monsters Vs Aliens yang berhasil bikin saya terbahak sampai menitikkan air mata (lebay gak tuh??).Well, overall, this is a very highly recommended movie.

Hail Gallaxhar!! ;D

Robbie in Little Britain

Former Take That star Robbie Williams is to appear as a little girl in a Red Nose Day special Little Britain sketch.

"It's hard to say no when asked to take part in a Little Britain sketch for Comic Relief," said Williams. "But I have to admit that dressing up as a small American child in a pretty dress made it all the more appealing."

Williams plays Candy Marie-Candy, friend of Ellie Grace played by openly gay Little Britain star Matt Lucas. David Walliams plays Ellie's mum. Williams said: "Robbie was absolutely brilliant in the Ellie Grace sketch. He could be a comedian full-time if he wanted to. "And we have found that the best way to tempt him back into the spotlight is by putting him in a dress!"

The sketches will air on Red Nose Day, the telethon fund-raiser for charity Comic Relief, this Friday on BBC One.

Ternyata.. BENER KAN FEELING GUEEEE!!

Sebenernya udah hampir seminggu yang lalu nonton Push, tapi beneran gak mood buat bikin review. Ceritanya.. apa ya ceritanya..?? Udah agak lupa karena beneran gak penting untuk diinget. Pokoknya tentang orang-orang yang keliatannya normal padahal ternyata mereka punya power, kaya' Heroes-lah, apalagi??! (emosi). Segala yang dikejar-kejar sama satu organisasi, ada formula yang bisa bikin power makin kuat, de es be de es be. Cuma bedanya, di PUSH ini mereka udah dikelompokkan nama-namanya. Yang Sniffer lah, yang mampu liat histori sebuah benda hanya dengan penciuman (gak ada sih ini di Heroes, tauk deh kalo season 3), ada Watcher, yang bisa liat future, trus digambar deh (Isaac-nya Heroes banget), trus apalagi tuh namanya, yang powernya kaya' Peter Petrelli 'n Sylar. Ada juga yang colongan dari Kung Fu Hustle, powernya si tuan tanah perempuan itu (lupa nama jurusnya), yang teriakannya dahsyat. Duh, gak ada yang ori deh kaya'nya di film ini.

Awal nonton Heroes aja gue udah merenung (halah), ini kok agak mirip X-Men sih power-powernya? Tapi masih challenging buat diikutin, walopun akhirnya stop di season 2, karena udah pusing kebanyakan tokoh. Muncullah si PUSH ini. Tadinya gue pikir, mungkin adanya Dakota Fanning ada nilai lebih yang bisa menghibur hati, ternyata kaga juga. Aktingnya biasa aja. Djimon Hounsou juga gak bagus, apalagi Chris Evans..duh, bener-bener deh! Chemistry-nya ancur semuahhh!

Komennya siapa tuh kemaren yang bilang bikin Jumper keliatan bagus? Gue setuju berat! Jumper masih ada seru-serunya. Lah ini, klimaksnya aja begitu doang. Gue sempet mikir, wah...semoga klimaksnya bisa mengobati rasa penasaran akan pertarungan Peter Petrelli dengan Sylar, yang sempat sengaja tertunda di season 1....ternyata eh, ternyata.. twing..twing.. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... datar banget!!!

Satu-satunya yang menghibur gue adalah ada 1 penonton, bapak2, yang asli mirip banget sama penjahat di Kung Fu Hustle (lupa namanya), yang jurus andalannya jadi kodok. Gue n laki gue geli ketawa, karena ternyata di film ini ada jurus si teriakan maut itu...:D.

I love this show!

Saya orangnya pelupa, jadi kalau ada moment American Idol yang masih terpatri di kepala saya, itu berarti benar-benar mengesankan! So far, these are my most unforgettable moments in American Idol:

Adam Lambert's Ring of Fire (2009) - (link)

Dari awal hingga hampir selesai saya ternganga. Arrangement lagunya sangat cerdas. Dengan sentuhan musik ala Timur Tengah, Adam berhasil mengubah sebuah lagu country (yang dipopulerkan oleh Johnny Cash) menjadi sebuah lagu yang terdengar unik dan megah di telinga saya. Dengan tehnik vokal dan stage performance yang pas dan bisa saya nilai sedikit sexy, Adam mampu membuat sebagian juri terpana. Tadinya saya berpikir, seperti apa ya, kalau saya dengar lagu ini tanpa nonton videonya? Ternyata… Excellent! Terlebih lagi yang studio version.

Other Fact:

Bagi yang belum pernah dengar Ring of Fire versi asli (Johnny Cash), please deh denger dulu. Adam Lambert ‘s arrangement to this song is totally unique, even a lot better than David Cook’s Hello or Always Be My Baby. Sorry guys.. Oya, I had a feeling Adam's not just gay, it turned out to be he's also a cross dress, but so what?! He has the smartest vocal technique this season.

Pertama saya belum menyadari lagu apa sih, yang dibawa’in sama si David Cook ini? Kok liriknya familiar banget, tapi iramanya beda. Terkejut beratlah saya ketika masuk ke bagian reff. What??! Billie Jean?? Baru kali ini saya dengar Billie Jean seperti ini, yang ternyata sudah di re-arrange oleh Chris Cornell di tahun 2007. Well, walaupun stage performance masih termasuk biasa saja, tapi bagi saya, vokal David Cook di lagu ini adalah yang paling excellent. Apalagi kalau dengar yang versi studio. Re-arrangement Hello dan Always Be My Baby memang terhitung unik dan mengejutkan, namun bagi saya Billie Jean adalah juaranya.

Other Fact:

Yang paling saya kagumi dari David Cook, selain suara lantangnya, adalah penolakan dia untuk menyanyikan lagu yang sama di ajang American Idol.

Taylor Hicks' Just Once (2005) - (link)

Taylor Hicks adalah satu-satunya kontestan Idol yang ketika disorot kamera sebelum audisi awal di Las Vegas, saya sudah yakin dia akan menang . Banyak performance Taylor yang saya kagumi. Apalagi stage performance-nya yang sangat atraktif. Tapi hanya ada satu yang paling terpatri di kepala dan menusuk ke hati Di minggu Top 6, ketika tema love song, Taylor membawakan salah satu lagu terindah menurut versi saya, Just Once. Memang sedikit pitchy di awal, tapi berhasil tercover dari tengah ke akhir lagu. Well, apa yang membuat saya terkesan? He sang it from the heart, soulful and he’s very handsome in his black suit, :P.

Other Fact:

Hampir seluruh performance Taylor dibenci oleh Simon. Komentar seperti, “This is a singing competition! Not a dance competition!” seringkali terdengar. Well, many-many..many people love him, and Simon had to admit it eventually.

Oya, Taylor Hicks tidak pernah masuk ke dalam 3 terbawah.

Performance-nya di tahap final ini membuat saya terpukau karena range vokal-nya yang luar biasa ditambah background choir singers…hmmm…it gave me chills. Vokalnya yang lantang dilengkapi dengan a very confident attitude mampu membuat lagu dari Simon and Garfunkel ini menjadi megah.

Other Fact:

Di audisi awal, Clay ditanya oleh juri, “What are you doing here?” Dengan lantang Clay menjawab, “I can be number one. Or number two”

What??!! No female contestant?? Hmmm… non of them impressed me so far.
